The US Open begins tomorrow...

Hey all!

Well, today we saw Germany inch past Poland in injury time. Tomorrow, we shall England explode against Trinidad & Tobago, as they will win 3-0. I predict 1 goal by Michael Owen, 1 by Beckham and 1 by Joe Cole. And Lampard, while not scoring, will be dangerous all game long.

Now, onto some Golf. The second Major of the year is upon us, and this one is very special as it marks the return to competition of Tiger Woods after a lenghty absence. This will be his first tournament since the death of his father. It will be very interesting to see how Tiger manages to deal with all these emotions for the next 4 days. Personally, I think he will be fine. He has taken a lot of time off to grieve, and I think he will show up with his game face on. Fact is, as much as his father's crucial health problems seemed to mess with Tiger at the Masters, he still managed to play a fantastic tournament, aside from the fact he had a few problems with his putting. I think Tiger will once again contend and be in the final 2 foursomes on Sunday.

But will he win? That's a much tougher question. Mickelson has become a true money player in the last couple of years, and you have to think that he will be there too come the final few holes. Vijay Singh played a great tournament last week, and he seems to be on his game. Retief Goosen, as much as I despise him, is always there too. I believe he's won a couple of US Opens in his career. That's the thing about golf... it's not like F1 or even the World Cup, where only a few chosen ones will for sure contend. We could see another rookie or unheralded player come up big on the first 2 days and be a contender throughout. Fred Couples is having a good year, and if he can find his putting, he can contend as well.

But in the end, and there's nothing fancy in this prediction, I think it will come down to the Big 3 when it comes to Majors: Woods, Goosen and Mickelson. The course will play longer than it's ever played, which favors Woods. Then again, they say that the rough will be as deep as it gets, which would favor Goosen and Mickelson. But Woods, before his hiatus, was as precise as he has been in years. And longer rough just might favor him (even if spends more time in it than his peers), as he is without a doubt the strongest player on the field, which might make him the likeliest to get out of tough positions unharmed. And so, in typical American fashion, I predict Tiger will come out the winner and crumble in tears thinking of his father when he sinks his last putt.

Dwarf out.

this blog is getting too corny and I'm running out of Gravol.... that last sentence was just too sweetlp for me! And the Dwarf should stop dreaming about England ... this game will finish 2-1 for Trinidad with a riot in Germany!

Yeah! Nick da Dick is right, this blog SUCKS MUCH ASS!!!!

Dwarf, what the hell is wrong with you??? Who gives a shit about golf, especially when the Oilers showed how big their heart is and won with a SHORT-HANDED GOAL IN OVERTIME????

You are a disgrace of a fan, the Oilz should be ashamed to have you in their ranks!!! NOT ONE WORD ON THE OILERS?

And you, Nick Da Dick, don't start smiling, because you're also an ingrateful idiot - how can you go against the BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY that welcomed you and treated you to some nice weather last weekend?? How can you say such horrible comments after cheering for England in the pub???

EN-GER-LAND will kick the shit out of T&T, mark my words. And Dwarf, you are wrong, Lampard will score a hat-trick.

I agree Veillotron. TV golf is for wimps. Stick your Tee and your small balls where the sun don't shine.

Nick the Dick, I am in absolute disbelief that you are almost willing England to loose in the world cup. It is one thing to think that Dwarf might be being a little optimistic but you seem to be totally against the team. Shame you didn't voice these opinions in the pub watching the England game last weekend so that I could have watched you get your head kicked in!!!

Hey it's not fun if everybody cheers for the same team... plus I love drama !!! I will be back in lovely England this week-end to investigate the weather again. It was almost unreal last week-end so I suspect the sun in England is as unpredictable as Ronney's foot condition! As I heard today on the radio, all the drug dealers in Trinidad will be off the streets to watch the game!!!!

Gordon Ramsay is also commenting the WC on the radio (apparently he's a former football player??). Quite funny but he believes Australia is reeeeeeeeeealy strong! I think it should stay in his kitchen !!!!!

i think the dwarf is still secretly watching oilers game through internet feed.....but with his cholesterol level and poor cardio, i don't blame him for not watching....the last thing we need is to find is naked body covered in nachos in a florida condo. but man oh man, no matter the outcome, this will be one of the greatest finals ever. the only thing that could've made last night's game even better would be ratboy committing the blunder instead of corey stillman

Huy,

Ratboy will die a horrible death, I promise you that.

To all the haters out there...

The Dwarf has many peeps, and amongst his peeps are golf fans who requested The Dwarf's superior input on this weekend's US Open. And since power is to the peeps, The Dwarf has answered with another terrific piece of writing.

As for the Oilers, if I didn't comment on it, it's because I didn't know they had won. And even if I had known, I still wouldn't have commented on it. Why? Huy said it best...

Holy crap!
England won it, but what a HORRIBLE game!

Crouch just needs to be shot - if only I had Snoop Dogg's number...
And the worst part for me is that in this game, Lampard was eqully as shit! Come on, Lampard, you can do better than that!...

On the more positive side, England qualified for the next round, and has a good chance to meet Germany in the next round... But England better wake up, or their World Cup run will not last very long...

Hey, Sweetness, if you command a shit blog, at least have the decency to read it and respond to it!!! Forcing this piece of shit on us is unnacceptable (the Dick told me to say that).
Hey, The Dick, I will support Drogba and Cote d'Ivoire against your pothead team - screw the Dutchs!!

By the way, The Dwarf still has no pictures...

By the way, Dwarf, another good point for the Oilers is that Weight and Ward might be hurt and not dress up for next game...

And Sweetness, is there some new pictures of Hugo we can see? It's been a while for me...

A question for The Babe: what's wrong with my small nuts?

The English players should watch the "Orange Game" tomorrow to learn how to plan decent football. I didn't see the game today (some people have to work) but I heard it was quite pathetic. Unfortunately for Drogba, a good player doesn't make a good team... the ivory coast defense is not bad but the Potheads should win easily!

LP: nobody is complaining about your balls, they seem quite productive!!!
